Overcoming anxiety, depression and grief. . . continuation

Grief
Grief is a normal part of life. It may occur not only with the death of a close family member or friend but also around life events such as divorce, losses in relationships, finances and the loss of pets. Therapy may be appropriate if

  • you find you need additional objective support
  • symptoms of depression and/or anxiety are affecting your life (If you think you may be suffering from depression, you may want to take this quick Depression Self-Test.)
  • it is difficult to move on and incorporate the loss into one’s life.

People are often expected to “get over it” before they are in fact ready. That expectation can then force them to not speak of their loss. It is often at this point that counseling can be of assistance.
