Depression Self-Test

The following questions may help you determine if you are suffering from depression.

Check all symptoms that you experience. Symptoms must be present the majority of days for two weeks or more

____ Insomnia or sleeping a lot (hypersomnia)
____ Chronic tiredness or low energy level
____ Feelings of inadequacy, self-criticism or loss of self-esteem
____ Decreased productivity or effectiveness at school/work/home
____ Decreased attention, concentration or ability to think clearly
____ Withdrawal from social activities
____ Loss of interest or enjoyment in pleasurable activities
____ Irritability or excessive anger
____ Inability to respond with pleasure to rewards or praise
____ Less active or talkative than usual; feeling slowed down or restless
____ Pessimistic attitude toward the future; brooding over past events or self-pity
____ Tearfulness or crying
____ Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide

If you checked at least three items your responses may indicate that you have minor depression.
